Dr. John Pierce, a native of Jackson, Tennessee, joined Nashville Skin in August 2025. He specializes in adult and pediatric medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Pierce graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi Honors College with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies through the Croft Institute, alongside minors in Chemistry and Spanish. Among several academic honors, he received the Alfred William Milden Endowment, awarded to a student demonstrating exceptional ability, leadership, and professional competence in language studies. During his time at Ole Miss, he also co-founded two nonprofit organizations focused on community literacy and global humanitarian outreach.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where he served as Vice President of Clínica Esperanza, a free clinic serving uninsured Spanish-speaking patients. During residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Dr. Pierce was selected to serve as Chief Resident and was elected to represent residents statewide on the Graduate Medical Education Committee. He also held national leadership positions, including serving on the American Academy of Dermatology’s International Affairs Committee and the Tennessee Medical Association’s Membership and Recruitment Committee. In addition to his clinical work and leadership, Dr. Pierce has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at national dermatology conferences.
He is excited to join his two siblings in Nashville, both of whom also work in healthcare in the Brentwood area.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Pierce enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
