Brent E. Pennington, MD

Dr. Brent Pennington, a native of Clarksville, Tennessee, founded Nashville Skin in 2005. He specializes in the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer.

Dr. Pennington received his Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry and mathematics from Vanderbilt University where he was awarded the Founder’s Medal as the valedictorian of the university’s College of Arts and Science. He then attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine and was elected by his peers into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Pennington completed his internship at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan. He returned to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for a three-year residency in dermatology. Following residency, Dr. Pennington completed a fellowship at Yale University in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology where he furthered his skills in the treatment of skin cancer.

Dr. Pennington is a Fellow and board certified dermatologist by the American Board of Dermatology. He was elected into the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology in recognition of his extensive training in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer. He has authored several articles in national medical journals on dermatology and skin cancer. In addition, he has served as a presenter at the national meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology.
